The Reunion Club
The Group was originally formed in order to make contact with friends that are serving or have served in the Army Dental Corps and the Royal Army Dental Corps.
The Club is affiliated to the RADC Association and encouragement is given to each Club member to join the parent Organisation. The first meting of the original 50 Group RADC was in 1989 at a hotel in Frimley joining with the RADC Association Corps weekend. Since that initial reunion the Club has continued to grow in numbers and our membership now encompasses all periods of service – wartime, National Service and the Regular Army including QARANC (Dental Branch) of any rank.
The aim of the RADC Reunion Club is to foster friendship and to promote our parent RADC Association. We seek to make contact with those who have served with the Army Dental Corps, the Royal Army Dental Corps and the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps (Dental Branch) so that they may join us in our various social and Corps activities and keep contact with other members through our Newsletters and gatherings.
Although we come under the RADC Association Rules we are obliged to be self funding; however the RADC Association gives financial support if necessary.
The RADC Reunion Club annual weekend event is held in early October with a close and friendly atmosphere formed over time. The venue is moved whenever possible within the Midlands in order to give everyone an opportunity to attend. The annual weekend covers the Friday evening reunion gathering, a dinner on the Saturday with the AGM on the Sunday morning, this is followed by a Remembrance service.
Members either attend for the whole weekend or for just the Saturday dinner.
We now hold an annual gatherings at the National Memorial Arboretum, usually in May and also a summer luncheon in Lichfield in July.
Three Newsletters are published each year and sent to members with an invitation to submit articles, stories, photographs and matters of general interest that mainly reflect their service experiences.
The annual membership fee is free for the first year; and thereafter it is £6 for single membership or £7 if you include your partner as an associate member. (this is currently being reviewed to £10 for members with partners free).
The RADC Reunion Club may be considered as one of the social arms of the RADC Association. Any ex Corps or Corps member who would like to join us can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome, with an open invitation along with partners and friends to attend any of our functions.
