Major (Retired) John Sharp has been awarded two Army Medical Services sporting honours at the annual athletics meeting. The first, in recognition of his hard work towards the successful adminstration of the Army Medical Services Rugby team was half colours for Rugby. John worked tirelessly to facilitate the AMS Rugby tour to South Africa last year. Additionally he shadowed and supported the then Secretary in preparation for this years season. Most notably he organised the sale and despatch of 900 AMS allocated tickets to this years Army Vs Navy rugby match at Twickenham.
John Sharp was also awarded the Murphy Cup. This is awarded to the individual considered by the Executive Committee of the AMS Sports Union to have contributed the most to the furtherance of sport in the AMS. This was in recognition of the general services to AMS Sport as Treasurer of the Sports Union and rugby specifically.
